Shifting takes a lot of practice, and skill. Shifting should first start with modivation. Depending on the type of wolf you have will tell you what He/she needs. After what ever you should matitate. The boringest part. For me anyways, but when I'm bored I know I'm not doing it right.  

1. Find a quiet and comfortable place. Sit in a chair or on the floor with your head, neck and back straight but not stiff.

2. Try to put aside all thoughts of the past and the future and stay in the present.

3. Become aware of your breathing, focusing on the sensation of air moving in and out of your body as you breathe. Feel your belly rise and fall, the air enter your nostrils and leave your mouth. Pay attention to the way each breath changes and is different.

4. Watch every thought come and go, whether it be a worry, fear, anxiety or hope. When thoughts come up in your mind, don't ignore or suppress them but simply note them, remain calm and use your breathing as an anchor.

5. If you find yourself getting carried away in your thoughts, observe where your mind went off to, without judging, and simply return to your breathing. Remember not to be hard on yourself if this happens.

6. As the time comes to a close, sit for a minute or two, becoming aware of where you are. Get up gradually.

Next is the actual shift.

Mental first- the basics

Meditation is the first step to this a shift. To be honest it's the basic first step to all shifts. Mental shifts are probably the "Beginner" shifts. I wouldn't aim for anything big if you are a beginner. Try to drown yourself in your wolf's energy. Forget your Human problems, and don't think in words. Only picture. Pictures of things you want, things you need. Get it?

Something more advanced is staying in this state of mind for a long period of time without breaking down-or- falling out of the "zone".   Try hunting or what ever you do.

 

PHYSICAL SHIFTING

This is one of my lease and most favorite shifts. I dislike if because of the pain that plagued this shift. The pain is so horrible I am reluctant to speak of it. How to P-shift as they young people say these days (I'm 15 about to turn 16 excuse me).

First you must relax before meditating obviously. Be confertable in clothing or nakie it doesn't matter. Think in pictures, for that's what most animals do silly!

After your arms and legs fall a sleep, or you feel like you have GOT to move, don't do it! The more you struggle the longer it'll take for you to shift. You have to will yourself to become the wolf. Open your eyes to the wolf lying within. I don't have any other way to explain it to you. Once your mind is open, your wolf will just walk in. Uh-huh.

*NOTE* After your first P-shift you will faint, black out, white out (those are 2 different things), shift randomely (In my case there were a lot of Mental shifts), arms and legs will ache a lot, headaches, mood swings, etc.

Yeah, after the shift, you'll return to the happiest state of mind.
